Lead Testing
Lead Check Pro provides lead testing in DC, MD, and VA. We can test for lead in dust, paint, and soil.
Lead testing is done by an inspection. An inspection consists of a surface-by-surface investigation to determine the presence of lead-based paint (in some cases including dust and soil sampling) and a report of the results.
Inspections can only be performed by certified inspectors or risk assessors. Each state may have its own set of rules about how and when to test for lead-based paint. Lead Check Pro inspectors are accredited and certified in DC, MD, and VA and know the rules for each state. Our professional lead testing services test homes for lead and include lead-dust inspections, lead-paint inspections, and soil samplings.
Lead-dust inspections determine the amount of lead in dust on surfaces. Dust is the most common source of lead exposure from deteriorating lead-based paint.
Lead-based paint inspections determine the presence of lead-based paint. It is particularly helpful in determining whether lead-based paint is present prior to purchasing, renting, or renovating a home, and identifying potential sources of lead exposure at any time.
Soil samplings or soil lead test are used to determine how much lead is in the top level of the soil. Soil is collected from bare soil (soil not covered by grass, mulch, concrete, etc).
